I made this environment for a Bridge of Terabithia concept animation series! This background was inspired by the house of Jesse, the protagonist, and seeks to convey the warm feeling of some moments of the work in contrast to more melancholic passages.
FROM SKETCH TO GRAYSCALE
In the sketch process I tried to made two different compositions, with changes in the objects dispositions that tell a little about the characters of the original movie. The objetcs reveal information such as the presence of a family with children in the house, and a routine in addition to inserting elements present in the reference environment.
MOODBOARD
After setting the basic lighting values through the grayscale, I tried out some different color combinations using Potoshop's 'Gradient Map' tool. The atmosphere of each version has been fully defined by developing more light and shadow values and effect layers.
